Packaging Formats
Common questions about pouch types, sizing, closures, and packaging format selection.
What packaging format should I choose for my product?
The right format depends on the product type, fill weight or volume, shelf presentation, barrier requirements, closure needs, and filling method. Stand up pouches are suitable for many retail applications, while flat, die cut, spout, or other formats may be better for specific projects.
What is the difference between a stand up pouch and a flat pouch?
Stand up pouches include a bottom gusset that allows the package to stand on the shelf, while flat pouches typically lie flat and may be more suitable for compact products, single-use packs, or smaller fill volumes.
Can you produce custom-shaped pouches?
Custom die cut shapes can be reviewed based on the artwork, pouch size, material structure, seal area, opening method, and production requirements.
How do I determine the correct pouch size?
Pouch size should be reviewed together with the product density, fill weight or volume, required headspace, zipper position, sealing area, and final package presentation.
Materials & Barrier
Questions about packaging structures, product protection, barrier performance, and material selection.
How do I choose the right packaging material?
Material selection should consider moisture, oxygen, aroma, light exposure, product oils, puncture risk, shelf-life requirements, and filling conditions.
What is the difference between clear, metallized, and aluminum foil structures?
Clear structures provide product visibility, metallized structures can provide stronger barrier and light protection, and aluminum foil laminates are generally used when very high barrier performance is required.
Does every product need a high-barrier material?
No. Using more barrier than necessary can increase cost without adding meaningful value. The structure should be selected according to the actual product and shelf-life requirements.
Can I include a clear window in the pouch?
Clear windows may be possible depending on the selected material structure, artwork, pouch format, and barrier requirements.
Printing & Finishing
What is the difference between digital and gravure printing?
Digital printing offers greater flexibility for smaller runs, multiple SKUs, and changing artwork, while gravure printing is generally more suitable for larger repeat orders and stable designs.
Which printing method is better for smaller quantities?
Digital printing may be more practical for smaller runs, product launches, multi-SKU projects, and artwork that may still change.
What finishing options are available?
Options may include matte, gloss, soft-touch matte, embossed details, partial UV, holographic effects, metallic accents, and other specialty finishes depending on the selected production route.
Can brand colors be matched?
Color matching can be reviewed using artwork files, approved references, physical samples, or color targets. Final appearance can also be affected by film structure, ink, finish, and printing conditions.
Artwork & Customization
What artwork files do you need?
Production artwork should include the correct dieline, bleed, safe areas, outlined fonts, linked images, color information, and confirmed SKU details.
Can I request a quote without final artwork?
Yes. Final artwork is not required for the initial review. Reference images, existing packaging, preliminary designs, or product photos can also help us understand the project.
Can I print multiple designs or SKUs?
Yes. Multi-SKU projects can be reviewed according to the number of designs, quantity split, artwork status, printing method, material structure, and production requirements.
Can you help review my packaging design before production?
Artwork and technical details can be reviewed for packaging-related considerations such as size, seal areas, zipper position, print layout, dieline compatibility, and production readiness.
Ordering & RFQ
What information do I need to request a quote?
Start with your product, preferred packaging format, estimated quantity, fill weight or volume, target size if available, artwork status, and destination market.
What if I do not know all of the specifications?
You can still send an inquiry. Share the information you already know and any reference packaging you have, and the remaining specifications can be reviewed during the project discussion.
What is the minimum order quantity?
Minimum order quantity depends on the pouch format, material, printing method, size, finishing requirements, and number of designs. Share your target quantity so the most practical production route can be reviewed.
Can I order samples before mass production?
Sample options depend on the project stage, pouch format, artwork, material, and production method. Available sample routes can be reviewed after the basic project specifications are confirmed.
